The Government assured that they would request their embassies throughout the world to work closely with other countries in dealing with Liberation Tigers Tamil Eelam (LTTE) front organizations that aim to organize transnational polls by the so called provisional LTTE government.

“We will provide other countries with relevant information with regard to LTTE front organizations and show them the negative impact they can have on their countries,” External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris said yesterday. The Foreign Ministry will direct our embassies to be in constant contact with foreign governments to keep them up to date on LTTE front organizations existing in those countries and the work being done by them to bring disrepute to Sri Lanka, he said.

According to him the Lankan Government will not pay attention to these transnational polls that were held in Canada and Australia. “We have had two major elections in the country since the end of the war and the Government has won with nearly a 2/3 majority, and these so called polls will not have any effect on us as they are illegal,” Prof. Peiris said.
