Minister Susil Premjayantha will today hand over letters of appointments to 110 Moulavi teachers filling a long felt need in Muslim schools. The Cabinet has granted approval for the recruitment of 615 Moulavi teachers on the basis of vacancies available in Muslim schools islandwide. There were 212 such vacancies in 2008 and another 212 and 191 vacancies in 2009 and 2010 respectively. The appointments given out today at thew Education Ministry offices fill vacancies for 2008 . The remaining vacancies will be filled in due course, an education ministry source said.
